Whether you suffer from plantar fasciitis, metatarsalgia, morton's neuroma, bunions, hammer toes, flat feet, heel pain, heel spurs, poor circulation, or any other uncomfortable foot or leg condition, FootSmart offers wonderful products to bring you relief and comfort. And they have great prices too! Their products cured my heel pain and as a repeat customer, I proudly recommend them.
Treat plantar fasciitis, heel spurs and foot strain in any shoe type. The curved Arch Brace comfortably supports and lifts the plantar fascia, distributing pressure and providing relief from inflammation and pain. Two adjustable Velcro straps let you attach the brace in seconds. Wear anytime - especially during sports activities - against the skin or over a sock. Order by men's/women's shoe size above. Caution: Not recommended for those with diabetes or poor circulation.
These ultrathin silicone metatarsal pads help ease the discomfort of Morton's neuroma by evenly distributing the force you place on your forefoot when you walk. The pad design secures a dome under the foot in just the right place to support your foot's metatarsal arch (that indentation in the center of your forefoot). The antibacterial, antifungal silicone resists foot odor and helps prevent infections. We highly recommend these for individuals who do a lot of walking or who stand for prolonged periods of time. Order by men's/women's shoe size above.
Wear with any shoe all day long - these cushions refuse to flatten out. The silicone toe crest nestles under the "hammer" or bent toes, relieving pressure and friction while cushioning even the most sensitive toes. Orderless, washable and reusable. Specify left or right. Order by men's/women's shoe size.Caution: Not recommended for those with diabetes.
Stop enduring the pain of hammertoes and claws toes with the help of this simple straightener. The strong elastic heel wraps around the back of the foot then goes under the foot to the toes. A padded hook closure pulls down and straightens the malfunctioning toes. Regular use helps to strengthen the forefoot muscle and alleviate calluses and other painful side effects of hammertoes. Caution: Not recommended for those with diabetes.
With a built-in elastic band that spans the length of the arch, these cotton-rich socks provide compression and support as they lift the arch to help relieve plantar fasciitis-related heel pain. These crew socks have a half-terry lining that pads the bottom of the foot and rolls up over the toes. Order by color and men's/women's shoe size above.Caution: Not recommended for those with poor circulation, diabetes or those with latex rubber allergies.
My Experience
When I found FootSmart, I was looking for a solution to my heel
pain problem. I would awake in the morning with soreness in my heels
and tightness in my legs so severe that I could hardly walk. I learned
at their site that my condition was most likely plantar fasciitis.
I bought some of their passive night splints and they worked wonders.
For those of you who have painful conditions and are unaware of
the reason or cause, I've listed a few descriptions of conditions
below. I am by no means an expert, so take this information and
use it to do your own research and definitely consult with a doctor
regarding any condition and treatment. FootSmart has many products
to treat all of the conditions listed here.
Plantar Fasciitis
The plantar fascia is a thin layer of tissue that helps support
the arch of the foot. Plantar fasciitis occurs when this tissue
becomes inflammed. This may cause the heel to hurt, feel hot, or
swell. This condition is usually worst upon first getting out of
bed.
There are a number of causes for plantar fasciitis and can occur
in combination with each other to amplify the problem. They include
tightness of the foot and calf, improper exercise or athletic training,
improperly fitting shoes, stress on the arch, or overwork of the
affected area.
Treatments for plantar fasciitis include alternating icing and heating
of the affected area after workouts, proper shoe fitting, stretching
exercises, and for pain, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication
is often prescribed. Night splints that hold the foot in place and
keep the plantar fascia stretched are also a wonderful remedy that
worked well for me. As a very last resort, surgery can also be performed,
but it is recommended that all other options be exhausted first.
Morton's Neuroma
The Morton's neuroma condition is caused by an enlarged nerve usually
between the 3rd and 4th toes. The nerve may become enlarged for
many reasons, but quite often it is because of compression or ill-fitting
shoes. Morton's neuroma may cause a sharp, burning pain in the ball
of your foot and your toes may also feel numb or have a stinging
or burning sensation. Morton's neuroma is also referred to as plantar
neuroma or intermetatarsal neuroma. Common treatments for Morton's
neuroma include getting properly fitting shoes, using arch supports,
and resting your feet. Anti-inflammatory medication may also be
prescribed.
Metatarsalgia Metatarsalgia is the general term used to describe foot
pain in the ball of the foot, near the metatarsal region. It can
affect the bones and joints. There are many causes of metatarsalgia,
but one of the most common is prolonged pressure to the metatarsal
heads brought about by improperly fitting or restrictive shoes.
Common treatments for metatarsalgia include getting properly fitting
shoes, orthotics, and metatarsal cushions or insoles.
Hammer toes Hammer toes is a condition in which the ligaments and tendons
in the foot have tightened and caused the joints in the toe to curl
downward. Some hammer toes are still flexible and can be moved,
while some are inflexible and cannot be moved. These inflexible
or rigid hammer toes can be extremely painful and can lead to further
foot problems such as corns or callouses. Causes for hammer toes
may be muscle imbalances or arthritis. Common treatments include
orthotics, toe splints, and gel toe caps.
