After hearing him live I had been searching for a cd. I do enjoy his music it is very soulfull. Hope he continues to record more. Rating: 5 Love it! I love this CD, have played it over and over, so ordered a second one (just in case I wear the other one out). Rating: 4 Kevin Costner's "Modern West" CD Not only is Kevin Costner "easy on the eyes", he is a gifted actor/director. I saw his debut on Grand Ole Opry and was very impressed with his singing and playing the guitar. He has put together a talented group of musicians which is why I ordered his CD. His style is a bit like Bob Dylans' but is his own man. I recommend this CD to anyone who enjoys what I consider to be a rockabilly style of music. Rating: 5 Wow! What a refreshing surprise! First, need to point out that I am a big Costner fan. Love his movies and frankly, I think he's very underrated as an actor. But, I'm here to talk about his music... WOW! I'm a big fan of the country/rock sound and thats what I think you get with this disc. "Five Minutes From America" and "Long Hot Night" are excellent. But, my favorite song on the disc is "Down in Nogales" which could easily have been a Chris Isaak cover (not exactly country or rock), but wow, what a fantastic song! Simply put, Costner's voice and lyrics are very, very good. If you like John Hiatt, John Mellencamp, or Chris Isaak - I think you'll like this CD. Rating: 5 Easy Going Kevin I love Kevin Costner, and was very surprised to learn that he sang in a band of his own! He has many talents, not the greatest voice, but it is just him, being him! I love the sound of his easy voice anyway. Very relaxing, love it! |
