Wake up!
I have to say great job! This disc is almost as fun as being at their show. Very well structured and lyrically strong. Keep kickin' it boys!

Rise Against continues to deliver
As other reviewer's have stated, I didn't think they could top Witness, but they have with flying colors. Witness was one of the best albums I've heard in a long time and Appeal tops it! I've read a couple reviewer's stating that Rise Against has slowed down and they knocked the record for this, but I don't think they actually listened to it. This album's music content is fantastic....and the lyrics are the best so far. The best part of the album is the fact that you can feel the song. It grabs whatever it is inside you that that evokes an emotional response, be it happy, sad, angry, or just frustration, and gives it a voice.

Just Ok
I am a big fan of Rise Against and think that they are currently one of the most brilliant bands out there. With that said, this album just didn't do it for me. I'd like to just sum it up to the fact that they've moved to a major record label and were forced to finally "sell out." Yet, I don't think that's really it. Truth is, their lyrics are still politically charged, and their music still has that hardcore punk sound. However, this album lacks the energy that their previous releases did. These songs just aren't convincing...it's more like they are just going through the motions, like they've lost the fire that drove their previous works. For most people, this probably won't make a difference...like I said before, this is still Rise Against. However, compare this record to Revolutions Per Minute or Sounds of the Counter Culture, and you'll realize that something has changed...

Teeth are less sharp but the music is still good
It isn't as hard as their previous releases. If you loved mosh anthems such as State of the Union or Bricks you may be disappointed. BUT....(and its a big BUT), the song Hero of War (love that song!!!!) on this CD saves it. Even though its acoustic and slow, the lyrics are as hardcore as ever and shows that Rise Against are still themselves, just trying to reach a larger audience. If your a continuing fan or new to Rise, i highly recommend this CD, its not their best but its still better than most of the other new music out right now.

More great Rise Against
Less punk than albums one and two (The Unraveling and Revolutions Per Minute) but still great music.
