Rating: 5 art and gift wrap Thank you, Sara, for this addition to our Christmas traditions... we enjoyed the child interpretation of the Christmas story, as well as your versions of classic songs and new cute songs like Toy Packaging. Rating: 4 Almost 5 stars Love her music and style and voice! This album is unique-I love her spin on the classics and her own songs. The only thing I didn't like was that someone's kid was in a lot of the songs reading scripture or talking and I know a lot of people like that but I would really rather not listen to a kid talking when I want to listen to the artist sing. Worse is when kids sing though. You buy the CD wanting to hear the artists and you get stuck listening to a children's choir for 5 minutes. Not sure if this kid sings but there's a whole lot of chatter going on in some of the songs. If it weren't for that 5 stars. Rating: 5 Love this CD I have this CD in my car and have really enjoyed listing to it this holiday season. This is my first CD by Sarah Groves -- she was recommended by a friend. To be honest, the first time I listened to it, it didn't "grab" me like some other holiday music I have. As I listen to it more and more, however, it is quickly becoming a favorite. It is quite a departure from traditional carols/music which I think threw me, but now is very much a positive. As I have heard more Musak in the stores that I care to, it is really great to get in the car to drive home and hear something refreshingly different. Her voice is pure and simple but very, very good. Definitely a good purchase for me ! |
