Nothing Less Than Five Stars!
I had to give a review on Musiq's new album. First and foremost (and for those who like to skim), this album is TOP NOTCH and deserves FIVE STARS!!!! Outstanding album!
I've spoken with a few of my friends who says it wasn't the greatest compared to John Legend's new album, which after a couple of months of listening isn't the greatest, sorry to say. Musiq stepped up his game with an experienced, familiar sound, that takes your ears on a listening roller coaster. With John Legend, if Evolver had been his first album, he would have flopped and never gotten another chance. Yes, he has good songs, but they got kind of stale after a while.
But back onto Musiq! My favorites on this album were "Until", "SoBeautiful", "MoneyRight", "Special", and "IWannaBe". Depending on my moods, those top five interchange. Thing is, the fast tracks on this album *fit* him very well. I can't explain Musiq, but it just works for him. The lyrics and instrumentals are what give him that added push to continue to stay on top. In "IWannaBe", it's a surprise hearing the horns (like foghorns or car horns) right before the chorus. It makes the song flavorful and fun.
The bad? Honestly, I really don't care for "IfULeave", and "Radio" is not his flavor at all! I always have to skip past "DearJohn"...so I guess a song is effective if it gives emotion...like anger every time I hear it! Breaking up on a cell phone is just immature.
Anyway, that off my chest...again, solid album, FIVE STARS!

Musiq does it again
This CD was worth every penny I paid for it. All the songs have a great beat, as usual, and his voice is just so wonderful. Most of the songs send messages regarding relationships and how to get through the hard times. I love his music and I can really relate to it. :0)

another classic from musiq
Since his classic debut "Aijuswanaseing" and the great sophmore release "Juslisen" I have been a fan of MUSIQ SOULCHILD. It's funny that this guy from Philly showed up exactly at the time when my favorite group from Philly "Boyz II Men" slowly faded away.
MUSIQ's flow and harmony is uniqe, just like Boyz II Men's was. With "ONMYRADIO" MUSIQ managed to bring back that old feeling from his first two releases. While not as classy as his first two, this CD is definately one of MUSIQ's best efforts, probably a bit better than "Luvanmusiq", which was also a strong release.
Check out "backagain", "until", "moneyright", "someone" and "sobeautiful" for some of the best R&B joints coming out in 2008. To be honest, the whole CD is bangin'. Make sure to get the new Anthony Hamilton joint too!

Musiq continues to produce good Music!
Musiq Soulchild fifth CD, "Onmyradio," is another strong CD from the Philly born singer/songwriter. He has been one of the most consistient Soul Men for nearly a decade. From "Just Friends (Sunny)," to "halfcrazy," to "B.U.D.D.Y." to "teachme," he always delivers a hit!
He scores another hit on this Cd with Top 10 R&B single, "Ifuleave," a heartfelt duet with the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, Mary J. Blige. He has potential hits with the break-up anthem, "Dearjohn," the Pop ballad, "Someone," and the beautiful "Sobeautiful." Musiq also spreads his wings and produces some uptempo numbers like the CD opener, "Backagain," "Moneyright," and the title track, "Radio," which the beat sounds like it could have been placed on a T.I. or Lil' Wayne CD.
This CD is worth being in your collection. It's a smooth one and even when the groove picks up, it never gets too out of control. You can play it from start to finish without skipping a track. One of the best R&B Cds to be released in '08!
