He also loves to give back to the community and donate to charity events. He presented a toy drive for the first annual Toyz n da Hood toy drive which provided 1,000 toys for 1,000 kids in his home town of Atlanta. He also opened his home for those who needed shelter to the survivors of Hurricane Katrina. He has received many awards and nominations such as the American Music Awards nominations for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Male Artist and Favorite Rap/Hip- Hop Album The Inspiration. BET Hip-Hop Awards nominations for Hip-Hop MPV of the Year and Hip-Hop CD of the Year for Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101. Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Awards include nominations for Top R&B/Hip-Hop Artist - Male, Top Rap Album for Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101, and Hot Rap Track for "Soul Survivor." He has won Dirty Awards for Most Bootlegged CD, Best New Dirty Artist, and Best Dirty Collaboration. He was also nominated for Dirty Boy of the Year, Dirty South Representative of the Year, and Dirty Song of the Year for "Soul Survivor". His Teen Choice Awards include nominations for Choice Music: Rap Artist. Vibe awards include nominations for Hottest Hook for "Soul Survivor."

Cash Money/Universal Motown Records multi-platinum artist Lil Wayne is once again taking control of the airwaves and breaking records in both with "Lollipop," the first single from his highly anticipated album Tha Carter III. This is the biggest add week that a hip-hop artist has received at Rhythm Crossover and the biggest any artist has received at Urban Radio including Beyonce and Mariah.

"Lollipop," is being well received at key radio stations across the country including: New York (Hot 97), Los Angeles (Power), Seattle (93 KUBE), Miami (99 Jamz), Philadelphia (Power 99), Atlanta (Hot 107) and Detroit (Hot 102). Lil Wayne's MySpace page received over a million unique views this week giving him the #1 Top Artist profile on the site. The video is currently in heavy rotation at MTV, MTV2, BET's Rap City and MTV Jams, where it appeared as the Jam Of The Week. The "Lollipop" video is also in medium rotation at MTV Hits and on BET's main playlist. One Day As A Lion is the creation of musical comrades Zack De La Rocha & Jon Theodore. This is music about space - the space between friends and collaborators where ideas form; the space in a song where the tension builds waiting for the next wave of sound; the space in the corners of the recording studio (Sinatra's old room at Ocean Way) where the sound gathers to fade and die. One Day As A Lion worked hard to capture that space on tape, unadulterated, unmolested, from heart to hand to skins to mics to tape to speaker to ear.
